What can I give my dog to relax him during a 5-hour flight?

He’s somewhat anxious and will be confined to a carrier in the cabin. If he barks in the carrier, the airlines may not allow me to take him. Rigorous exercise is not going to be enough for him, so please offer some other suggestions.

Run his butt off before you board the plane.

Rescue remedy works great! Also, ask your vet about benadryl. I am not one to needlessly medicate a dog, but if this trip is unavoidable, or you absolutely have to have him crated, it may be what you need to do. Also, bring a big blanket with you. Sneak him under the blanket. Worst case scenario, they ask you to put him back in.

Ask your Vet for something. That’s what I did.
